Sociological theory has fundamentally reshaped how I see my world. I aim to provide my students with the opportunity to reshape their own. I strive to make social scientific theory both accessible and practical, using it to challenge taken-for-granted assumptions and illuminate structures of inequality. I draw from relevant and emerging issues, conflicts, and news stories to showcase the power and rewards of sociological thinking.
Beyond my love for sociology, I am generally motivated by a long-standing commitment to teaching and learning at all levels. I have a decade of professional and volunteer experience teaching in elementary schools and universities.
Students say that I am passionate, intellectually engaging, and open to discussion in the classroom. Instructors say that I am responsive, adaptable, and invested. Student and instructor reviews are available upon request.
